In Search of Barb/Hunter/Aravah

Action figures, Alice Cooper top hat, SIGNED Alice Cooper poster, BTVS posters, faux skull holding my kippah, spooky tree candle holder as a weekday Shabbat menorah, tallit (prayer shawls) and guitar

Window with curtains.  Tree of life art piece and a handmade sign: Do one thing each day that makes you happy and dance like Snoopy

 bookshelves, purple hat, red top hat

bookshelves, desk (w/laundry), hats, Russian lacquer pieces. In the hall, pictures of me, Uncle George, Jackie's dad and cousin Chris in uniform

wooden crates I use as a nightstand cubes and Mulder - Fox Mulder (yeah, X-Files pop culture reference!)

The mother Mary hanging was hanging in the first home my father and Mom had on base in Ft. Knox, Ky and it hung over my bed ever since. 54 years (before I was even born)

Ignore the thrashed appearance of the room - we've been moving and cleaning stuff.

Ma;

You know I've been doing a bit of self exploration for a couple of months or more.  I never really developed a strong sense of self (whatever the hell that means).  I joined the Marine Corps and they pretty much mold you to their standards.  Once out of the Corps we were busy just trying to survive and Rocky Horror wasn't a 24/7 persona thing.

Then we moved in together and you know how cutting your frowns of disapproval could be and, over the years, I had "toned down" a lot of my wardrobe and interests.  Now it feels like I'm in my early 20s in a lot of ways.  I want my horror movie posters back, I want my Alice Cooper posters on the wall.  My action figures are up (only got a slight disapproving frown for those - hah!).

So, part of the exploration will be painting one or two of my walls and playing a bit with theme/decorations in my room.
