Bang, thump, bang

http://aravahsproject.blogspot.com/ Hey Mom; We have a new roof. Not repaired, not jury-rigged fixed - new.  We'll also have a new gutter system soon.  The roof is guaranteed for 30 years and the gutters for life.  No cleaning out the gutters, no more back splashes into the attic.  No more leaks in the ceiling, no threat of collapsing ceiling tiles. I'm also going to paint my room.  Got the paint, got the stencil I want on the wall.  Got the shelves down off one wall along with the guitar hanger.  Now to paint.  I hate painting.

We had to move the bookcases and upper decorative shelving unit out of the dining room to get the refrigerator in.  This was the result - Grady to the left, Blake to the right and Alice peering through.

In the hall, pictures of me, Uncle George, Jackie's dad and cousin Chris in uniform wooden crates I use as a nightstand cubes and Mulder - Fox Mulder (yeah, X-Files pop culture reference!) The mother Mary hanging was hanging in the first home my father and Mom had on base in Ft. Knox, Ky and it hung over my bed ever since. 54 years (before I was even born) Ignore the thrashed appearance of the room - we've been moving and cleaning stuff. Ma; You know I've been doing a bit of self exploration for a couple of months or

Home work

Hey Mom; We have a new washer, dryer and refrigerator and have settled on who we'll have do the roof and gutters.  Dealing with those amounts of money is a bit daunting, I'll admit.  I can't remember ever having a new refrigerator. Did we? I remember buying used/refurbished ones and we never had one that had water and ice coming through the door (we need a longer line/tube for that than what they brought - we'll get Chris to install that). The washer and dryer will be able to handle the blankets we end up washing regularly and all are energy efficient.  The roof will be guaranteed for 30 years and the gutters for life.  That should make the insurance company very happy since this roof is probably over 25 years.  Jackie also got us each a Kindle.  It's wild, Ma, instead of carrying one book and wishing you had picked the other, you could have 1,000 books on a device that only slightly larger than a paperback and thinner than most.  Wow.  Missing you terribly
